More than 35 young Rwandans have been trained by AKWOS

Akwos in partnership with Kviina Till kviina are implementing a one year project to empower Rwandan Youth of the age between 13 -18 and stake holders on Peace building, conflict resolution ,Gender equality and leadership skills through Sports. The stake holders were a priority because they are on the ground and will be the key people to help AKWOS understand the real situation on the grassroots level since they will be following up this program on a daily basis for sustainability.

These activities began with training of trainers on the above mentioned topics which took place in 5 schools in Rubavu and 5 schools Musanze Districts.The beneficiaries are 4 students and 1 teacher from each school making the total number of 40 in both districts.

The trainings were done through workshops after which will do monitoring and evaluation to measure the impact after 3 months,

The next step will be to organize Peace events where by AKWOS will organize different sports tournament, testimonies, Story telling which will raise awareness to more youth on how to promote peace and how to solve issues in conflict management, Gender equality and leadership skills and motivate them on the power of sports for self confidence,
