Gender Equality

Gender equality, also known as sexual equality or equality of the sexes, is the state of equal ease of access to resources and opportunities regardless of gender, including economic participation and decision-making; and the state of valuing different behaviors, aspirations and needs equally, regardless of gender.

Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding

In every conflict that arises in any society, women and children are the most prone and vulnerable because they are ignorantly and innocently used in conflicts by the selfish social change minded movements.

Women’s Participation in Sports

Historically, women’s participation in sports has been discouraged due to several barriers. Those barriers are usually divided into three categories: A major socio-cultural and economic barrier is the main AKWOS idea that sport is masculine and elitist. Practical barriers include poverty and scarcity of economic means.

Community Health Initiatives (CHI)

AKWOS will use CHI to focus on equitable gender roles, prevention of HIV/AIDS and STDs/STIs (Sexually Transmitted Diseases/ Sexually Transmitted Infections); promotion and empowerment of women in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights.
